Apples are available all year round and vary from sweet to slightly acidic in flavour, characteristics which are particularly accentuated in certain varieties. They are rich in vitamin C (4,6 mg/100 g), E and B vitamins, they are high in antioxidants and provide 52 Kcal/100 g. There are around 7,000 different varieties of apple, more than 1,000 of which can be found in Italy, with wide-ranging flavours, smells and shapes.
We grow such varieties as Devil Gala, which is extremely productive and with an intense colour, Brookfield, with a sweet and pleasant flavour, and Galaxy, which is yellow-red and aromatic. All three belong to the Gala apple variety.
We grow the Jeromine variety of Red Delicious, which is characteristically dark red, and the Red Chief, which is sweet and juicy.
Last but not least, we also grow Golden apples, with crunchy and compact flesh.
We began organically growing the yellow Opal variety of apple in 2016. The Brero F.lli company benefits from a 3,500 m2 organically-certified warehouse.
